NBL's Adelaide seek compensation for Creek

The Adelaide 36ers reportedly want at least $100,000 in compensation from the NBA's Brooklyn Nets if they sign Boomers forward Mitch Creek.

Mitch Creek's potential move to the NBA may have hit a snag with his former NBL club Adelaide seeking compensation before giving their blessing for the 26-year-old to join Brooklyn.

Lawyers for the 36ers have filed an injunction to stop Basketball Australia from approving a clearance for Creek to trial with the Nets, saying they want at least $100,000 in compensation should he earn a final roster spot, according to The Advertiser.

"We are ensuring in the event that he gets a spot on the final roster that there is some sort of compensation (for Adelaide)," 36ers chief executive Ben Kavenagh told the newspaper.
