The National Broadband Network (NBN) will be switched on in the McLaren Vale and McLaren Flat areas, south of Adelaide, on Wednesday.
NBN Co says connection of high-speed broadband will now pass 576 homes and businesses in the area, with a further 1400 to have access over the next few months.
Community account manager Chris Gregory says the NBN is helping break down the digital divide, allowing Australians to choose where, when and how they work.
"Working away from the office is no longer a hindrance with super-fast broadband," he said in a statement.
McLaren Flat digital consultant Daniel Procter said connecting to the NBN would allow his business to grow.
"As a digital consultant, my job is to help businesses navigate the increasingly complex digital world and on my previous connection I often found myself getting lost in slow download rates and patchy videos," Mr Procter said.
He said the NBN connection would also allow him to break into overseas consultancy markets.
