Voters in Hartlepool in northeast England have overwhelmingly voted to leave the EU, while those in the City of London want to stay.

Almost 70 per cent of voters in Hartlepool in northeast England have backed Britain leaving the European Union, the BBC reports.

Meanwhile, the City of London has voted to Remain in the EU, with 3312 votes to Remain and 1087 to Leave after a turnout of 73.58 per cent.
