Nebraska and Iowa stocks fall, led by Lindsay

NEW YORK — Nebraska and Iowa stocks fell Friday, led by Lindsay Corp. and Valmont Industries.

The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa Index, a price-weighted list of companies with operations in the region, fell 1.84 to 728.37.

Lindsay fell 2.00 to 87.70. Valmont fell 0.97 to 119.96.

In the broader market, the Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 0.82 to 2,101.49. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 56.32 to 17,946.68. The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa Index was developed with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 31, 1996.
