Nebraska and Iowa stocks fall, led by Union Pacific

NEW YORK — Nebraska and Iowa stocks fell Wednesday, led by Union Pacific and Lindsay Corp.

The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa Index, a price-weighted list of companies with operations in the region, fell 10.71 to 710.85.

Union Pacific fell 1.89 to 95.85. Lindsay fell 2.95 to 84.67.

In the broader market, the Standard & Poor's 500 index fell 34.66 to 2,046.68. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 261.49 to 17,515.42. The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa Index was developed with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 31, 1996.
