Nebraska and Iowa stocks fall, led by Union Pacific

Nebraska and Iowa stocks fell, led by Union Pacific and Valmont Industries.

The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa Index, a price-weighted list of companies with operations in the region, fell 4.19 to 713.46.

Union Pacific fell 1.17 to 92.31. Valmont Industries fell 1.80 to 111.82.

In the broader market, the Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell 20.11 to 2,084.07. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 212.33 to 17,402.84. The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa Index was developed with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 31, 1996.
