Nebraska and Iowa stocks fall, led by Valmont Industries

NEW YORK — Nebraska and Iowa stocks fell, led by Valmont Industries and Berkshire Hathaway.

The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa Index, a price-weighted list of companies with operations in the region, fell 0.26 to 732.52.

Valmont Industries fell 2.15 to 119.36. Berkshire Hathaway fell 672.00 to 214,828.00.

In the broader market, the Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 5.57 to 2,081.90. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 27.09 to 17,902.51. The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa Index was developed with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 31, 1996
