The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa index, a price-weighted list of companies with operations in the region, rose 3.11 to 733.70.

Union Pacific rose 2.02 to 110.44. Lindsay Corp. rose 1.75 to 76.97.

In the broader market, the Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 19.22 to 2,100.40. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 208.63 to 18,034.93. The Bloomberg Nebraska and Iowa index was developed with a base value of 100 as of Dec. 31, 1996.
