Nerves to decide WBBL title: Scorchers

Perth Scorchers captain Elyse Villani says the WBBL final against the Sydney Sixers will come down to which team holds their nerve.

Perth Scorchers captain Elyse Villani says the WBBL final against the Sydney Sixers will come down to nerves.

Who holds their nerve, and who loses theirs, will decide the title at Adelaide Oval, Villani says.

"In this format you're always under a lot of pressure," she said.

"People make decisions under pressure and sometimes they're good and sometimes you cop them and hopefully learn from them.

"To be honest, the team that holds their nerve and executes their plans the best will probably be the team that come out winners."

Sunday's finale is a rematch of last year's final, won by Ellyse Perry's Sixers.

But the Scorchers have beaten the Sixers in their two meetings this tournament.

"Once you get to the final, you have just got to turn up on the day and play well," Perry said.

"Playing Perth again, they have been really great again this season and we have had some great tussles."

But Perry said her Sixers wouldn't become too Perth-conscious in the grand final.

"Especially in a final, you have got to focus on yourselves and what you're going to do," she said.

"We will tweak and adjust things here and there but it's probably more about playing well to the conditions and doing what we do well."
