New bushfire threatens WA homes

Lives and homes may be at risk from an out of control bushfire burning in Perth's outer metropolitan area.

Lives and homes may be at risk from an out of control bushfire burning through Perth's outer north-eastern metropolitan area.

A watch-and-act warning has been issued for people in the western part of Bullsbrook.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services warns burning embers are likely to be blown around homes, starting spot fires up to 100 metres ahead of the fire.

The cause of the fire, which was reported at 2.30pm on Tuesday, is not known.

Meanwhile, firefighters are continuing to mop up after a bushfire in Perth's southeastern suburbs including parts of Kenwick, Orange Grove, Wattle Grove and Forrestfield.

That blaze burnt through 94 hectares but the cause was unknown.
