A new cancer centre will be established in Melbourne with the federal government committing $6 million to the project at Cabrini Health.
A research institute and a wellness and exercise centre are included in the plans which Health Minister Greg Hunt hopes will see researchers and clinicians work towards achieving cancer breakthroughs.
"The Cabrini Research Institute of Cancer will be integrated within Cabrini's Malvern hospital... giving them the best chance of developing breakthroughs and delivering better health outcomes for patients," Mr Hunt said.
