Foreign Minister Stephen Smith says he is impressed with the preparations across New Delhi in the lead-up to the Commonwealth Games.
Mr Smith, who is in India on a three-day tour, has inspected the main stadium for the Games which is scheduled to begin in October.
He has also visited the stadium to be used for the Hockey World Cup and swimming facility.

The main Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will be ready in time, he said in a statement on Wednesday.
"As the host of the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000 and the Melbourne Commonwealth Games in 2006, Australia is familiar with the years of preparation that goes into hosting such events."
Mr Smith said on Monday that he is also satisfied with Indian security arrangements, following security fears and possible militant attacks.
