Gay men in Australia are now more likely to get tested for HIV because of the availability of a faster and easier test.
Known as rapid tests, a person can find out their HIV status with a test that returns a preliminary result in about 30 minutes.
The traditional test takes about a week and involves a second doctor's visit to get the result.
Rob Lake is the executive director of the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations.
He told Greg Dyett getting more men to test more often is a key to reducing the spread of HIV.
