New lead in Vic burnt car murder

Police are hunting for a vehicle that may be linked to the murder of a man whose body was found in a burnt-out car in Victoria.

Police have a new lead in the murder of Thomas O'Connell, whose body was found in a burnt-out car in Victoria.

Mr O'Connell, 32, of Mernda, was found dead inside a charred car just off the Hume Freeway in Wandong on February 5.

Investigators believe he was killed before the car fire and are hunting for a dark-coloured sedan that was seen with its lights on nearby, police said on Sunday.
