New-look news line-up for SBS

SBS will expand its weeknight news coverage in 2012, with rolling newsbreaks throughout the evening and a revamped late bulletin at 10.30pm.

World News Australia's in-depth 6.30pm news-hour, presented by Anton Enus and Janice Petersen, will be supplemented by two newsbreaks and the new late bulletin, providing viewers with broader, more up-to-date coverage.

SBS' online news presence also continues to grow, with a new World News Australia mobile site complementing its highly successful iPhone and iPad apps and website.

Insight and Dateline will return in February as part of SBS' new Tuesday night line-up, and Living Black will be back on Sundays.

Digital platforms were a key part of SBS's growth strategy, the organisation's managing director Michael Ebeid said.

“SBS's news and current affairs offering is a true cross platform experience for our audience,” he said.

SBS' Director of News and Current Affairs, Paul Cutler, said the division was refreshing its brands and increasing its commitment to editorial content.

“Australian audiences know they can rely on SBS to deliver breaking news with a unique international perspective from some of the best in the business,” he said.
