Performance figures for the radical new McLaren 650S Coupe, which is being unveiled at the Geneva car show this week, show it is one of the fastest road cars on the planet.
The McLaren offers neck-snapping acceleration from zero to 100km/h in 3.0 seconds, with 200 km/h reached after just 8.4 seconds.
Top speed is given as 333 km/h. By comparison, the current Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo sprints from zero to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds, with a factory top speed of 315 km/h.
McLaren says despite the benchmark performance, the supercar offers a high level of creature comfort.
The cabin is trimmed with Alcantra leather, the carbon reacing seats hug the figure and there is navigation with Bluetooth telephony and satellite radio.

McLaren says the 650S also performs efficiently. It returns 11.7 litres per 100km on the EU combined cycle, and boasts a CO2 figure of 275 g/km. This makes it one of the cleanest models in the supercar category.
"Of course the performance figures are important, and they help boost excitement. But they're only part of the story. This is a car that's about feel as well as measurement," said Mike Flewitt, chief of McLaren Automotive.
