Jobs will be the focus of the first full meeting of Queensland's new cabinet on Monday.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the meeting of her now 17-strong team would focus on accelerated works projects for regions hit by the resources downturn, such as Townsville, Cairns and Mackay.

The premier said the ministers would also head to Gladstone for a community cabinet at the end of the week.

"I'm very serious about creating more jobs across the state," she said.

Four MPs - Stirling Hinchliffe, Grace Grace, Leanne Donaldson and Mick de Brenni - were elevated to cabinet in December after the premier announced a reshuffle.
