New robot surgery centre for Melbourne

Victoria is set to unveil a new robotic surgery centre in Melbourne, with a $2 million funding boost from the state government.

A new robotic surgery training centre is set to be unveiled in Melbourne.

State Health Minister Jill Hennessy will announce $2 million funding for the Australian Medical Robotics Academy, a joint-venture with the Australian Prostate Centre, The Herald Sun reports.

The facility will train Australian and international specialists and will be housed in the Parkville medical precinct.
