Workers should find a few dollars extra in their paypackets from today, as the federal government rolls out the third and final stage of its income tax cuts.
Also from today, minimum wage earners will get an extra 26 dollars a week from the Fair Work Australia award, established last month, which lifts the minimum wage to 570 dollars a week.
However, one economist doubts people will be rushing off to the shops to spend their new wealth, given the air of uncertainty in the community.
