A New York man is on the run from police after he allegedly cut his wife’s arm off, police say.

Officers were called to Sunset Park in Brooklyn yesterday where they found a 35-year-old woman with her right arm severed at the bicep, as well as two of her fingers on the left hand, the NYPD said.

Police are now reportedly searching for her 35-year-old husband, Yong Lu, who fled on foot.

The woman was taken to nearby hospital in a critical but stable condition, according to police.

It's alleged the man used a knife during the attack which police recovered at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
