Brendan O'Connor from the US Studies Centre says that if the Republicans don't pick a Presidential candidate before their August convention, a newcomer could come in and take the crown from frontrunner Mitt Romney.
'New candidates who haven't run in the primaries at all could potentially come in and overturn Romney. Even the delegates who are supposedly pledged to Romney, some of them could abandon him...they're not bound delegates.'
'There are really only two winners at this point; Romney wins before the convention or someone else who is not in the game emerges.'
