Newcrest Mining has boosted gold production in the December quarter, helped by increased output at its Lihir and Telfer mines.
Australia's largest gold miner said it produced 620,691 ounces of gold in the three months to December, more than six per cent higher from the September quarter's 583,745 tonnes.
Newcrest received $US1,100 per ounce on average, down from $US1,126 in the prior quarter.
The company has maintained its full year guidance.
