Just two days after a dramatic restructure at rival Fairfax media, Rupert Murdoch's News Limited has announced a major restructure of its own.

It will involve a merging of print and digial businesses, with an unspecified number of job losses.

News Limited moved to take a dominant role in Australia's pay tv industry, with a near $2 billion takeover bid for James Packer's Consolidated Media Holdings.
