Newton sent back to rehab

Matthew Newton has reportedly been forced to quit his role as the host of Channel Seven's heavily-hyped show The X Factor and has been sent back to rehab.

News Ltd says Newton was brought back to Australia by one of the show's producers after getting into a fight with girlfriend Rachel Taylor in a Rome hotel.

A Seven spokeswoman told News Ltd Newton had a strong commitment to the show, but now has their support as he tries to regain his health.
