It's official: Lady Gaga will headline the Super Bowl halftime show.
The NFL announced on Thursday (Friday AEST) that the pop star will take the stage on February 5 at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Gaga sang the national anthem at the Super Bowl this year in Santa Clara, California. Beyonce, Bruno Mars and Coldplay headlined the halftime show.
Gaga will release a new album, "Joanne'' on October 21. The Grammy winner's hits include "Poker Face", "Bad Romance", "Born This Way'' and "Applause".
One Australian who could have a front-row seat for the performance is defensive end Adam Gotsis, who is in his rookie year in the NFL with reigning Super Bowl champions Denver Broncos.
The Broncos are currently first in the AFC West standings having started the season with three wins from as many starts.
