Queensland LNP leader Tim Nicholls says he's "not conceding anything" as the wait for a definitive result to the state's election drags on.
With more than 80 per cent of Saturday's poll counted on Thursday, Labor looks to have won 46 seats, just one short of a majority, with five seats in doubt.
Despite the LNP sitting on 38 seats, Mr Nicholls insists his party is still in with a shot at claiming victory.
"I'm not conceding anything at this stage," Mr Nicholls said from the Gold Coast, where he was meeting several of the victorious LNP members, including potential leadership rivals John Paul Langbroek and David Crisafulli.
"I'm simply saying that the Labor party are not yet in a position - despite the arrogance of the claims on Sunday that they were going to win 47 - to do so."
Mr Nicholls refused to discuss his leadership position, saying his party was "still in this hunt".
He said the focus should be on Labor's Annastacia Palaszczuk, who he says is yet to answer his question about her plans if a majority cannot be attained.
Ms Palaszczuk said during the election campaign she would not accept the support of the Greens, One Nation or Katter's Australian Party to go into minority government.
"We are still getting radio silence from Annastacia Palaszczuk," Mr Nicholls said.
"Will Annastacia Palaszczuk hold her word, keep to her promise to the people of Queensland and refuse to govern with the support of crossbenchers and minor parties if she fails to get to 47?
"That's the question that Annastacia Palaszczuk has been in hiding about since Monday of this week."
