Davis Cup captain Lleyton Hewitt has named the team of Nick Kyrgios, Bernard Tomic, Sam Groth and John Peers for Australia's World Group playoff with Slovakia next week.

Kyrgios is racing the clock to be fit for the grasscourt tie at Sydney Olympic Park from September 16-18 after being forced to quit his third-round US Open match with a hip injury.

John Millman is on standby as a singles back-up, with James Duckworth also an option and already with Hewitt in Sydney helping the squad prepare.
