Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis have no designs on becoming a modern version of the Woodies or Bryan brothers despite their shock Australian Open doubles triumph.
American twins Bob and Mike Bryan won a record 16 grand slam titles together, while the famous Australian combination of Mark Woodforde and Todd Woodbridge snared 11 majors.
Kyrgios and Kokkinakis claimed their first on Saturday night, beating fellow local hopes Matt Ebden and Max Purcell 7-5 6-4 in the final at Melbourne Park.
The wildcard entrants rode a wave of raucous support to knock off a string of seeded opponents on an unexpected run to the final, nine years after they won the junior Wimbledon doubles title together.
But Kyrgios, who joked he and his long-time mate simply "rolled off the couch" to steal the silverware, insists he is no certainty to even enter another grand slam doubles draw, let alone win more titles.
"I'm not playing the French and then I'm not playing (Wimbledon) doubles, so maybe just US (Open) and then (ATP) Finals," the 26-year-old said of his 2022 plans, having also repeatedly indicated he has no idea what his playing future looks like beyond this year.
In response, Kokkinakis joked: "I'll just try and find someone else. I didn't even enjoy it anyway."
However, Kokkinakis said the Special Ks will not turn down an invite to the ATP Finals in November.
"We didn't expect to make ATP Finals, especially after playing one tournament for the year together," Kokkinakis said.
"It's pretty f***ing crazy really. But, yeah, we'll rock up for sure. We'll see what happens.
"I think everyone's gonna want to beat us, but that's fine. I don't think anything changes."
Kyrgios and Kokkinakis could come into calculations for Australia's Davis Cup qualifier against Hungary in March but are yet to declare their intentions on that front.
