Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has announced a $134 million tourism package to attract people to the Great Barrier Reef, but says it's not in conflict with her party's support for the controversial Adani coal mine.

Ms Palaszczuk made the funding announcement - which will help secure more direct international flights, and rejuvenate Great Barrier Reef island resorts - before a small group of anti-Adani protesters in Cairns on Wednesday, on day four of her election campaign.

She remains adamant there is room in Queensland policy for supporting further development of the mining industry while still protecting natural assets.
