No decision on coaching future: Bellamy

Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy says he's still to make a decision on whether to re-sign with the NRL champions or head to Brisbane, who the Storm host on Sunday.

Melbourne's Craig Bellamy is continuing to play his cards close to his chest regarding his future NRL coaching plans.

The Storm mentor says he's still mulling a decision on whether to remain with the NRL champions or consider a big offer from Brisbane.

Melbourne host the Broncos at AAMI Park on Sunday afternoon, giving Bellamy the chance to take a close look at the players he could be coaching as soon as next year.

While Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett is contracted for next season, it believed the Broncos would look to off-load him should Bellamy take up their deal.

Bellamy used last weekend's bye to ponder his future and says that while he's closer to making a call than before, no announcement is imminent.

"It's ongoing," Bellamy said on Saturday.

"It's closer and hopefully it will be done soon.

"The clubs have been really understanding and patient."

Storm chief executive Dave Donaghy said through the week he felt the decision was more personal for Bellamy than a football decision.

"It's always a bit of both," Bellamy said.
