Federal government financing to support the creation of the Adani mine in Queensland will not go ahead, government frontbencher Karen Andrews says.

She said the advice she has had from the resources minister is that given the position the Queensland Labor government took to last year's state election there won't be financing from the federal government to build a railway to the mine.

"For there to be money available, that would require the support of the Queensland government," she told Sky News on Sunday.
