A Victorian father twice found guilty of murdering his three sons by driving them into a dam has been denied the chance to take his appeal to the High Court.
The boys' mother, Cindy Gambino, cried as the High Court on Friday rejected an application by Robert Farquharson for special leave to appeal his conviction.
Farquharson, 43, was jailed for life in 2010 after a Victorian Supreme Court jury found him guilty of murdering Jai, 10, Tyler, 7 and Bailey, 2, in September 2005 to get back at his ex-wife.
