No more paper transport tickets in NSW

Public transport users in NSW will have to buy an Opal card or be left at the station with the end of the paper ticket system.

Goodbye humble paper train ticket - the future of public transport in NSW will be all electronic from here.

Passengers have no choice but to use the Opal card system from now on, with paper tickets no longer sold or accepted on the state's transit networks.

"With this major transition on Monday, we are asking customers for their patience and understanding to accommodate people adjusting to the change," NSW Transport Minister Andrew Constance said.
