Queensland Opposition Leader Tim Nicholls is adamant there is no way he'll allow One Nation MPs on to his front bench, even at the risk of losing his chance to become premier after the next election.
Queensland One Nation leader Steve Dickson has warned Mr Nicholls that his party will not help the LNP form government after the next poll without cabinet positions.
Mr Dickson, who defected from the LNP to join One Nation has told The Australian any deal to help the LNP form a minority government would have to come with a proportional representation in cabinet relative to the number of seats each party holds.
Mr Nicholls, however, says that's simply not an option.
"I've got news for Steve Dickson and it's all bad: there are no cabinet seats for Steve Dickson," he said.
"Steve Dickson's just talking about jobs for him and a ragtag group of candidates who we don't even know who are standing yet.
"We're in a state where we've got a do-nothing government. It's struggling from a rail crisis, to a childcare crisis, to a domestic violence crisis, to an infrastructure crisis, to a jobs crisis. Those are the issues that are important to Queenslanders, not Steve Dickson's thwarted political ambitions."
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has already ruled out forming a minority government with One Nation, a stance she reiterated on Tuesday.
"No deals with One Nation, I have said that very clearly," she said.
"I said I am going to stand on my integrity, my honesty and my transparency."
Mr Nicholls pointed to the current situation whereby Ms Palaszczuk's government holds power due to the support of Katter Party MPs and independents as an indication her stance may change however.
"Annastacia Palaszczuk is made of glass and I think people can see straight through her," he said.
"She said exactly the same thing before the 2015 election and look who she's joined up with ... Annastacia Palaszczuk will do and say anything in order to win and hold power."
