No Origin blues for Bulldog Reynolds

Canterbury star Josh Reynold says he isn't concerned about his chances of forcing his way back into the NSW State of Origin side.

This time last year NSW five-eighth Josh Reynolds couldn't think straight when it came to holding onto his State of Origin spot, but now the Canterbury star doesn't have the same rugby league blues.

Reynolds considers himself an outside chance of forcing his way back into coach Laurie Daley's side after playing all three matches in NSW's drought-breaking series win in 2013, but not featuring last season.

With just two rounds remaining until Daley picks his team for Origin I, Reynolds is taking more of a Zen approach in 2016.

"I really have to tell you the truth, this time last year I was edge," he said,

"It was a different situation I was the incumbent and I felt I was more of a chance that I am this year. I just haven't bought into it this year now. I haven't read any papers or watched the TV, I am just trying to do my talking on the field,

"I used to get anxious about it, but when I am anxious I feel that is when I go out there and play my worst."

Reynolds said he is more interested in helping the Bulldogs find their gear ahead of Sunday's round 10 NRL match with Wests Tigers after an inconsistent opening third of the season.

"Origin isn't at the front of my mind at the moment," he said.

"Laurie might not think I am up to scratch, the selectors might think I am not up to scratch but that is out of my control, if I come here (Canterbury) and I am doing my role that is all I can do."
