'No regrets', Howard tells SBS 10 years after 9/11

Former Prime Minister John Howard says he has no regrets about committing Australia to war as soon as he watched news of the 9/11 attacks.

The leader who sent Australia to war in the wake of the attacks 10 years ago has no regrets about making that decision on the spot, in Washington, without consulting his colleagues.

SBS Chief Political Correspondent Karen Middleton, who was covering the visit of then prime minister John Howard, spoke to him about the events of the past decade.

Middleton has also recently released a book on the conflict in Afghanistan: 'An Unwinnable War'.
