A regular NRL first-grade berth might finally be on offer at Brisbane but Greg Eden says he has no regrets about a return to England.
Eden, 25, confirmed he would leave for the Super League at season's end, after signing a two-year deal with Castleford.
He has a chance to nail down a Broncos starting spot with backs Jordan Kahu (pectoral) and Jack Reed (shoulder) facing lengthy sideline stints.
However, the English flyer said Castleford's offer - believed to be worth $200,000 a year - was too good to refuse.
England-born Eden made up his mind to end his two-year Broncos stay, days after starting in Brisbane's last round 26-18 win over Canberra.
"I've come out here and achieved what I wanted to - to play NRL," says Eden who has played five games for Brisbane to date.
"But I am still switched on for the rest of the year and have something to prove."
Eden arrived at Brisbane in late 2014, billed as the "British Billy Slater" but failed to fire, spending his entire first full season playing in the second-tier Queensland Cup before making his Broncos debut this year.
Eden insisted he would leave with fond memories and did not rule out a NRL return.
"Castleford is where I grew up and where all my family is - it will be nice to go back there," Eden told Broncos TV.
"I thought, at this stage of my career, it was probably the best option to get back playing regularly again.
"I've been away two years but I have loved every minute of it and am sure I will be back here at some point in my life."
