Kindergartens that accept children who haven't been vaccinated are operating illegally in Victoria, a prominent vaccine opponent says.

Kindergartens who offer places to children who have not been vaccinated will be investigated by the Victorian government.

Illegal vaccine-free kindergartens are operating in Victoria in response to the government's no jab, no play policy, prominent vaccine opponent Wendy Lydall says.

Next year Victorian children who are not up to date with their vaccinations will not be allowed to attend preschool and Victorian Health Minister Jill Hennessy told 3AW that kinders who ignored this new law were irresponsible and would be investigated.
