American linguist and philosopher Noam Chomsky came to Australia to receive the Sydney Peace Prize, but his agenda didn't end there.
A high school in the Sydney suburb of Cabramatta has its own peace prize, and Professor Chomsky was a guest of honour at the school's annual peace day.
Mr Chomsky apologised for his generation's legacy of war and environmental destruction, calling on the students to turn it all around:
'These are massive responsibilities, fortunately there's plenty of opportunity. And the kind of excitement, committment and inspiration shown by the activities here, in fact just your interest is the hope for the future, which is in your hands.' Mr Chomsky said.
