Nomad Restaurant brings the east and west, plating up Mediterranean-inspired dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients. They also offer an all-Australian boutique wine list. Owned by husband-wife team Al and Rebecca Yazbek, they believe it’s important to support local small businesses.

“We’re here to support the small wine producers and supporting local growers,” Al says.

“I support smaller producers because it promotes diversity in our food industry…Cashflow is a difficult thing at the best of times. It helps them with their business and helps them thrive.”

Cashflow is one of the biggest roadblocks small businesses face. According to Xero, 14% of small businesses say late payments are one of their biggest concerns. This is hardly surprising as 64% of small businesses report having invoices go unpaid for at least 60 days. Small businesses often don't have the time or money to hire bookkeeping and accounting services.

To combat this issue, Rebecca uses Xero Accounting Software to track invoices, do bookkeeping and handle payroll.

It’s one way they keep red tape out of the kitchen.
