North Melbourne coach Scott Gowans is happy with the AFLW's controversial new conference system, despite the potential for the Kangaroos to miss the finals.
North's 7.11 (53) to 5.1 (31) win in the first game of Saturday's Marvel Stadium double header sets up a massive away clash next weekend against Fremantle.
With only the top two from either conference progressing to the finals, the Kangaroos-Dockers round-seven game is an unofficial elimination final.
Fremantle, who easily beat Geelong earlier on Saturday, North and Adelaide lead Conference A with only one loss apiece.
The Crows host GWS on Sunday and will return to the top of the conference provided they win, thanks to their vastly superior percentage.
That means the winner of Fremantle v North will join them in the finals.
Last week, Kangaroos captain Emma Kearney said she would like the conference system scrapped, but Gowans had no problems with it.
He was asked if would still back the new system if North missed the finals.
"Absolutely, because it's interest," Gowans said.
"We're all custodians of this game and, really, that's what the AFL wanted and that's what they've got.
"There's no just sneaking into finals on percentage or anything like that - every game counts."
Gowans noted North were 3-0 interstate in their inaugural season.
"I can't wait to get over there and I wish we could go over tomorrow," he said.
North led at every change on Saturday, although the Magpies kicked two goals to nil in the last quarter.
But the result left Collingwood winless with next weekend's home game against Brisbane to come.
No team has gone winless in the AFLW's first two seasons.
Coach Wayne Siekman is adamant he remains the man to lead Collingwood, saying he has stuck to the task in a development season for his young side.
While Jenna Bruton starred for the Kangaroos, Collingwood tagger Brittany Bonnici blunted Kearney with an eye-catching game.
Bonnici had a game-high 21 disposals and laid 10 tackles, while restricting the league's reigning best-and-fairest player to 15 possessions.
"I'm not going to deny the fact that I'm pretty proud of my efforts today," Bonnici said.
