Northern Star to lift output at WA mine

Gold miner Northern Star has outlined a plan to lift production at its Jundee mine in WA, initially by 15 per cent from FY18.

Gold miner Northern Star says it plans to lift production at its Jundee mine in Western Australia after exploration results and a trial of the processing plant showed the potential for increased capacity.

The miner will first lift production by 15 per cent to 250,000 ounces a year from FY18 using existing infrastructure. It will then consider a second phase plant expansion to increase production to 300,000 ounces annually.

Northern Star acquired the mine in 2014.
