Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has assured union members he's not out to get them - he just doesn't like union corruption.
Mr Abbott told Triple M Radio in Melbourne he had been a union member himself, in his former job as a journalist.
If the coalition wins government on Saturday, it would ensure a fair go for workers and the more vulnerable in the community, he said.
"I think there are a lot of good unions and good unionists," Mr Abbott said on Friday.
"I just don't like the crooked ones, and we've seen a few of them over the last few couple of years, especially connected with the Health Services Union.
