In another blow for battling Brisbane, star forwards Sam Thaiday and Josh McGuire face up to two weeks on the sidelines after being charged by the NRL match review committee.

Thaiday was charged with a dangerous throw on Bryce Cartwright in Brisbane's shock 31-12 loss to Penrith at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night.

Fellow Queensland forward McGuire was hit with a dangerous contact charge for his tackle on Josh Mansour.

Both have carry over points but will escape with a one-match ban with an early plea.

It would rule them out of Thursday night's away clash with Sydney Roosters.
