Kane Evans is likely to avoid an NRL ban despite being hit with a dangerous contact charge for a tackle on Penrith's Peter Wallace.

The Sydney Roosters forward was sanctioned with the grade-one charge for the Monday night incident, but he will avoid suspension with an early guilty plea.

In other match review committee news, Damien Cook will be free to play after taking an early guilty plea for the dangerous tackle on Cameron Smith that sent their clash with Melbourne into golden point.

Manly's Josh Starling, Christian Welch of Melbourne and the Wests Tigers' David Nofoaluma also avoid suspension after taking early guilty pleas for their grade-one charges.
