They may be sweating on Tyrone Peachey's fitness but Gold Coast coach Garth Brennan is quietly confident the former NSW utility will remain a Titan.
Brennan confirmed New Zealand backrower Kevin Proctor would overcome a fractured eye socket and return a week early in Saturday's NRL clash with Manly at Cbus Super Stadium.
But the jury is out on whether Peachey will bounce back from a suspected pectoral strain against the Sea Eagles amid speculation the matchwinner wants to return to Penrith.
Brennan said he would give Peachey until Saturday morning to prove his fitness after the star appeared to aggravate the injury he suffered in their last-round loss to the Warriors at Titans training this week.
However, he appeared adamant that Peachey would stay on the tourist strip despite reports his family was unsettled on the Gold Coast and was headed back to Penrith.
Ex-Panther Peachey is reportedly mulling over a return to Sydney just six months into a three-year contract.
Speculation over Peachey's Gold Coast exit only ramped up after Penrith appeared to clear salary cap space for the move by offloading Waqa Blake to Parramatta this week.
But Brennan said as far as he was concerned Peachey remained in his Titans plans.
"As far as I have been told he will be staying here at the Titans and we want to keep him here," he said.
"It is clearly in Tyrone and his management's corner but as far as I am aware he will still be here at the Gold Coast Titans.
"He's in a good place but obviously there are some personal issues there (with family).
"We don't want to lose him. But as far as I know there are no further developments and Tyrone will continue to be a Titan."
Brennan also played down Peachey's injury scare following a training mishap on Wednesday.
Peachey was forced off the field after 12 minutes of their 24-20 last round loss to Warriors and appeared worse for wear following an attempted tackle on prop Shannon Boyd at training.
"It probably scared him a little bit. We won't risk him but we will give him every chance to play," Brennan said.
Second-last Titans are desperate to snare their fourth straight win over sixth-ranked Manly on Saturday to remain in the top eight mix.
The unlucky Gold Coast have lost six of their past eight games but their last four defeats have been by single digits.
