A former NSW Liberal Party member who penned an expletive-laden, racist social media tirade targeting outgoing Northern Territory senator Nova Peris has pleaded guilty to a charge of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend.

Christopher Richard Nelson, a chiropractor from the state's Central Coast, was charged over the Facebook post in May and entered the guilty plea on Tuesday, as he faced court for the first time.

The 64-year-old is not in custody and is expected to be sentenced on July 5 at Woy Woy Local Court.
