NSW City Origin facing fullback crisis

City Origin coach Brad Fittler said Matt Moylan, James Tedesco, Lachlan Coote and Will Hopoate won't be considered for the annual clash against Country.

NSW City Origin coach Brad Fittler is facing a fullback crisis with four candidates already ruled out of the traditional fixture next week.

Fittler said Matt Moylan, James Tedesco and Lachlan Coote won't be considered due to injuries, while a fourth option, Will Hopoate won't play on Sundays for religious reasons.

Wests Tigers star Tedesco hurt his shoulder in Thursday's win over South Sydney, while North Queensland No.1 Coote is believed to be hampered by a rib problem.

It is unknown what injury Penrith custodian Moylan is suffering, however he is five games back from a major ankle problem and has been battling a wrist pain over the past fortnight.

Manly's Dylan Walker also failed to finish Saturday's loss to North Queensland after suffering a leg injury.

Canberra star Blake Austin, who NSW Blues legend Andrew Johns last month nominated as his preferred option against Queensland, is also unlikely to be named as he nurses a hamstring issue.

Fittler will name his team on Monday, but confirmed Cronulla forward Wade Graham will captain the side against Country in Tamworth.
