An off-duty NSW police officer is accused of drink-driving with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

A NSW police officer has been charged with high-range drink driving, accused of being behind the wheel with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit.

Police say the off-duty officer from the North West Metropolitan Region was taken to Campbelltown Police Station in Sydney's southwest on Saturday afternoon after returning a positive roadside breath test on Appin Road.

A breath analysis at the station allegedly returned a reading of 0.186.

The officer was given a court attendance notice for high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol and is due to appear in the Campbelltown Local Court on June 20.

Police said her duties were being reviewed.
