NSW cops seek driver after cyclist's death

A 22-year-old cyclist was left to die on the road in a hit-and-run incident in northern NSW, according to police.

Police are urging a driver to "please do the right thing and come forward" after a cyclist was killed while riding in northern NSW.

The 22-year-old man was left to die on the road in a hit-and-run incident in Wilsons Creek on Sunday, according to NSW Police.

A passing motorist discovered the local man's body on Wilsons Creek Road, southwest of Mullumbimby, and called emergency services about 1am.

Chief inspector Bobbie Cullen said he was struck about 12.45am, with the vehicle fleeing the scene.

She appealed to the driver to come forward and give the man's "upset and distraught" family some answers.

"We implore and we urge the driver of that vehicle to please do the right thing and come forward and help police with this investigation," she told reporters on Sunday.
